The first annual Jennifer Lang Memorial Scholarship for $2,000 was awarded to Caledonia Secondary School student Kalea Raposo on June 14, 2018.
This scholarship is administered at Caledonia by the Northwest Scholarship Foundation. Anyone can make supplemental tax-deductible donations to Jen’s scholarship at any time.
The scholarship has been awarded to the following students in subsequent years:
Katarina Wriglesworth (2019).
Franco Fewer (2020). He intended to study Creative Technologies in Digital Journalism at Simon Fraser University.
Merrah Edwards (2021). Merrah aimed to study Political Science and Gender Studies at the University of Victoria. “Jennifer’s story is very impactful and inspiring to me; our community was lucky to have such a passionate journalist.”
Mattea Fewer (2022). She planned to study Political Science at the University of Victoria.
Kaylee Marx (2023). She planned to study anthropology at the University of Victoria.
In 2024, the Jennifer Lang Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Brooke Hansen, who has been accepted into the writing program at the University of Victoria.
