Jen’s Celebration of Life was held Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Cloverdale Legion.
It was incredibly beautiful.
We had amazing speakers, including David Hull, Alex Lang, Paula Carlson, Doug Lang, Ray Hudson, Paul Orazietti & Ben Wevers. We had a poetry reading by Alex Rose that evoked Jen’s love of the wilderness of northwestern B.C. And readings of messages from friends from afar who could not be with us.
The capper was a truly magical ukulele performance by Boaz Joseph. He played two songs – one an original instrumental composition and the other George Harrison’s Across the Universe. (Hear more by Boaz at his YouTube channel.)

The venue was beautifully decorated with the help of our closest friends. We invited people to take away beach glass or shells that Jen had collected from the ocean, as well as packets of ‘Wildflowers for Jen’ seed to plant in her memory.
I can’t thank everyone enough for everything they did.
The outpouring of care, kindness and appreciation for Jen – from near and far – has been overwhelming.
On behalf of Jen’s brother Ron and Shirley, nephew Alex, and her best friends – Tina Menchions, Karen McLeod, Corinne Siemens, Tina Fanzone and Vicky O’Connor – thank you everyone for attending or for sending your positive energy to us wherever you were.
